So, Sunday was a lovely afternoon spent with my Mum. I had entered Girl Around Glasgow‘s competition for winning tickets to the BBC Good Food Show and completely forgotten about it. A few weeks ago, Laura got in touch to say she had re-drawn the competition and I had one tickets! I could not contain my excitement. A perfect end to moving in weekend.
Entering the SECC you are faced with rows and rows of stalls. Mum and I knew where the first stop would be.
The Bubbly Champagne Co’s Bar.
We ordered a glass of brut and rose and sat down to see what the show had to over.
I then spotted the little top hat caps, that are in fact champagne stoppers. Treated myself to a black sparkly hat as an essential flat decoration.
The show itself was lots of stalls with everything, my favourite – cheese.
To home baked goods.
To chocolate, yes the spanners are chocolate.
Near the end of the show, I spotted this incredible bagpipe cake by Rachel at The Butterscotch Bakery. I started to speak to her about icing and how I struggle to do it.
Rachel decided to give me, my very own lesson on piping! So useful, I did get slightly better.
If you are ever need a cake or cupcake in Glasgow, give Rachel a call!
Will definitely be going to the show again next year.
