Switching of at night is tough, especially in this age of devices, screens and plenty of blue light. One of my 101 goals, was to start a wind down bed time routine. Uni got me into a bad routine, of up late in front of a screen and unable to switch off.
Here is what I find helps:
1. Install f.lux on a laptop, but try and avoid to use it an hour before bed. F.lux changes the light from the traditional blue to orange light which is less harsh on your lights.
2. Light candles in the bedroom and have minimal lights on to create a dark and relaxed zone.
3. Use Sleep Cycle on your phone, a great app that monitors your sleep and wakes you up when you are in a more natural and less groggy state.
4. Have a cup of camomile tea, curled in my pyjamas which allows me to plan my next day and completely relax.
