Never Let Me Go Kazuo Ishiguro

A few chapters into this book, I realised the plot seemed familiar but wasn’t sure why. Eventually I remembered I had seen the trailer for the film adaption years ago. The book is a new favourite. The concept of humans created to primarily be organ donors is frightening. Whilst the boarding school, Hailsham at the beginning seems entirely innocent until further on in the book when Kath explains the contents of some of her lessons.

I’ve always been a quick reader; an easy day read that had me captivated from the start. Ultimately knowing what will happen to the characters only adds to the intrigue. By splitting the book into three separate sections; childhood, adult and donor you really get to understand Kath and how her understanding of her purpose changes as she grows older.

My plan for tonight is to watch the movie with some popcorn and see if the book is portrayed well on the screen. If you’ve seen the film what are your thoughts?
