Quiet

About a chapter into this book, the penny dropped for me. I’ll admit to not having the correct perception of introverts, I always thought it meant the stereotypical geek in the corner who can’t socialize. Turns out, I can heavily relate to some of the introvert concepts mentioned in this book, yet also can relate to some of the extrovert ones. I’d always just assumed I was 100% an extrovert, going to admit it now, I am definitely variable depending on the social situation.

This line got me

Introverts, in contrast, may have strong social skills and enjoy parties and business meetings, but after a while wish they were home in their pajamas.

Without a doubt this has to be one of the best books I have read in a long time. Since reading it, I have told about 4 different people about it. The author, Susan Cain has done a brilliant ted talk from 2012 that summaries the book as a whole.

This counts towards another one of my 101 goals, to watch at least 10 Ted talks. Having watched this one, my youtube is now suggesting other talks.
