Mother Daughter Day.

Since I was little, Mum has always made the effort to have mother-daughter days. Just before my 8th birthday, we passed Claire’s accessories and I asked (as I always did), if I could get my ears pierced. Surprisingly, Mum said yes. Never have I been more shocked. After the piercing, we had ice-cream, mint-chocolate chip in my case. Over the years, the days out have changed depending on location of mall we were visiting, from long coffee and cake sessions in Dubai to shopping, lunch and a glass of wine in the UK.

We decided to celebrate my graduate job and headed down to Edinburgh on the train. After an early start, brunch was in order, complete with a glass of bubbly and a gorgeous view of Edinburgh at the Forth Brasserie in Harvey Nichols (ask for a window seat). Unsurprisingly we both had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with brioche bread as it is our all time favourite breakfast.

I then bought myself my graduation present, originally I wanted a handbag, but chose to invest in my feet and bought a pair of “red soles.” An elegant peep-toe sandal, perfect for any special occasion.

The weather in Edinburgh was a mixed-bag from thunderstorms to brilliant sunshine. The gardens in St Andrews Square are picturesque and currently have an exhibition on neuroscience, which was fascinating.

Mum and I browsed the various department stores picking up a few bits before having a mid-afternoon snack. Pizza, bruschetta and another glass of wine.

Another day out with my Mum I will never forget.
