This is a super rich chocolate cake, I’m talking over 500g worth of chocolate. A slightly altered verison of this white chocolate wedding cake from BBC Good Food, again for my parents silver wedding. We did 3/5 of the recipe and used two 24cm round cake tins, and didn’t do the dark chocolate buttercream layers!
Here is a Blue Peter-esque, here is all the stuff I prepped earlier.
I find melting chocolate oddly relaxing, might be the smell or just knowing you get to lick the spoon later.
Dad decided to get involved as well, apparently I wasn’t mixing properly. A definite excuse for a Kitchen Aid mixer!…
So I got caught…
A tip for the white chocolate buttercream, work quickly as the white chocolate sets very quickly!
For the ganache, I was very impatient…. It’s best to let it set for at least an hour or two to thicken, not 15 minutes..
Not exactly how I imagined it, we will call it rustic.
Congratulations, Mum and Dad!
