KitchenAid Mixer

Baking dreams do come true!. Thanks to my Grandma and Grandad I was gifted a rather amazing KitchenAid Stand Mixer in Cafe Latte, or glittery white. It’s fair to say I was like a kid in a candy store picking it up from John Lewis and sat with it on my lap the whole way home.

My Grandma was equally excited as she had used her stand mixers for years, which made me many a birthday cake! I decided to keep it classic for my first bake, with a Mary Berry Victoria Sponge. A top-tip from my Grandma, heat the mixing bowl with hot water for a few minutes before creaming your butter and sugar, to ensure the butter is warmed!

Mixing the cream for the inner layer has never been easier, no more spending 15 minutes with a hand whisk. Similar to the heating tip, I had put the mixing bowl in the fridge to keep the cream cool.
