London | Week 3.

Last Tuesday the HMS Westminster came into South Quay and spent a week docking. It was a slightly bizzare sight having a warship in and amongst Canary Wharf with the banking district behind it! Yet another busy week at work, but getting my pay day and my self proclaimed princess weekend more than made up for it.

My favourite beer, Brew Dog’s Dead Pony Club now comes in a can. Brew Dog has it brewery in the small town of Ellon, just north of Aberdeen where my grandparents live. The brewery has recently started doing tours; definitely going to visit when I am home at Christmas.

Saturday was spent shopping and having a girly day. Starting with my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season, followed by a manicure and a little gift to myself in the form of an infinity ring.

Lunch was a fishy affair with sushi at Aji Ichiban in Greenwich, lovely sushi I sat for over an hour just eating and reading my book. Perfection!

Sunday was a lazy morning reading in bed then treating my Auntie to afternoon tea at The Winter Gardens in The Landmark Hotel.

Starting with the ever traditional sandwhiches (no crusts) – cucumber, salmon, chicken and tarragon and egg mayo.

Washed down with a glass of bubbly.

Followed by scones with strawberry jam, apple curd and clotted cream.

Does anyone have a good scone recipe? I really want to make some!

My favourite desert, surprisingly was the basil macaron, an odd taste at first but surprisingly refreshing as you finished it! One was sadly not enough.

I love the interior of the hotel, it creates the illusion of being in a courtyard thanks to the palm trees dotted around.
