Last week was well and truly an overindulgence of food. When in Rome (ahem London) and all that right? Connie came down for a night, starting with burgers and wine at Gourmet Burger Kitchen, so classy! If you go make sure to have truffle mayo, either on your burger or with the fries. It’s amazing.
The following morning, we headed to Peyton and Byrne for some much needed breakfast. A granola and fruit bowl for Connie, avocado and tomatoes on toast for me.
We then wandered over to Shoreditch and came across #GuardianCoffee in Boxpark. I loved everything about it, from the lightbulbs to the electronic screen telling you exactly what was ordered. A techy based coffee house, a sure way to keep this coffee obsessed girl now working in technology happy!
Then it was off to Oxford St for a seemingly endless list of things. Somehow the odds weren’t in our favour and only one thing was bought! It was just one of those days. To cheer ourselves up we headed to Hummingbird Bakery, after years of making the cakes from the book we headed to cupcake perfection.
Just look at the cupcakes, all perfectly aligned.
I love the little takeout cupcake boxes, so cute!
Connie’s red velvet managed to survive the journey home, my black bottom cupcake not so much! Icing everywhere…
The following morning was a lazy Sunday spent by myself just enjoying doing nothing. I’m still getting used to not having work at the weekends! Yupp its a cliche, but I sat and had a Pumpkin Spice Latte and started a new book.
I then spent most of the afternoon just ambling away and taking pictures of The Thames, The Naval College and Greenwich Park. Autumn/Fall has definitely arrived, hello riding boots, thick jumpers and scarves.
The clouds didn’t look real. I promise there is no photoshop.
Love this art installation, Nelson’s Ship in a Bottle.
