The Butterscotch Bakery

The Butterscotch Bakery

Way back in October, I met the lovely Rachel who owns The Butterscotch Bakery at the BBC Good Food Show. Since then Rachel has been super busy, luckily for me, opening a store in Hyndland Road. I may or may not have visited the past two Saturdays in a row, with further plans to visit again! Her little bakery sells incredible cakes, cupcakes with great tea and coffee.

My Dad was particularly impressed with the bagpipe cake in the window.

The place itself is mint and gold and my idea of perfection.

The china is mismatched which I again love, although not quite as much as I loved this red velvet cupcake.

All types of bakes are for sale, from custard creams to shortbread to tablet. The fact it was called tablet made my Dad so happy. My family have an ongoing debate about whether tablet/toffee is tablet or toffee. My Mum being from the east-coast calls it Toffee, whilst Dad from the west-coast calls it tablet. The endless arguments over what this confectionary is called will only continue!

If you are in the Hyndland/West End area of Glasgow and fancy a cuppa and a slice of cake, I could not recommend anywhere more. Or if you need a cake for any occasion, Rachel’s designs are incredible!
