A recent bake sale at work meant I was looking for a quick, in expensive bake to donate. After flicking through Humminbgird Bakery’s Cake Days cookbook I found the basic brownie recipe. A melt the butter and chocolate, add the flour, eggs, sugar and throw into a greased tin kind of recipe. So simple, it can be explained in one rather long sentence. What makes them triple chocolate? The butter is melted with dark chocolate, then added to the mix is some white chocolate and milk chocolate chips. If you really want to be adventurous, you could add some crushed oreos!
Note to self, buy a glass bowl… Plastic and boiling water isn’t the best…. Melting and mixing chocolate is so relaxing though.
Such a chocolate laden mixture.
With the added chocolate chips.
Waiting for the brownie slabs to cool. Yes, those are kirby grips, the cheapest and easiest way to hold up some greaseproof paper. Paper clips also work, but I didn’t have any.
Rather generous slices!
