September for me has always been a month of a new adventure, whether that was the start of a new school year or a year ago starting a job. This year, nothing “new” is happening, I’ve not gone and bought new school shoes or a pencil case or any of that. This last year has been difficult. I’ve struggled on through but finally have started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The gym has been great for that, last week I was greeted with the above fabulous view when driving to the gym. Sadly with the start of winter, goes the early summer mornings and constant light. I’ve noticed myself becoming more hermit like and withdrawn with the beginnings of it being dark early. Late night runs can no longer happen on the unlit routes I love.

Am I where I wanted/expected to be? No. Have I learnt a lot in the past 12 months? Yes. I lost my confidence, lost my love for this blog but I also started to read properly again, started a new gym routine which has massively reduced my body fat percentage and I’ve found that I actually love running.

My first half marathon is in 3 weeks and I couldn’t be more excited.
