My brother Grant works as a bartender in Aberdeen and agreed to make mojitos one night. He did a bit of a cheats recipe as we could not source sugar syrup in Sainsbury’s and neither of us wanted to rind fresh limes, so lime juice was a solid alternative.
Add a shot of lime juice to your tall glass.
Now add a 50ml shot of white rum to your glass and a teaspoon of sugar, stir.
Bruise the mint leaves a few times by clapping them in your hands. Then add to your glass.
Add crushed ice to the glass.
Garnish with additional mint leaves.
After taking this photo, Grant and I searched the house for some straws to make it more blog-friendly. With no luck I went to the local supermarket and bought some straws. Despite then using the straws I completely forgot to take a photo. Oops!
Thanks for the cocktail class Grant!
