A,B,C, easy as 1,2,3. Or in this case: sugar, limes, mint, some Bacardi rum and soda water, to make a mojito. Add first three ingredients. Let out all the anger by muddling. Add ice, add rum, add more ice. Top with soda water. Job done.
No seriously, that is all that is needed for the classic Mojito. Such a refreshing drink, from the mix of mint and lime. You will however need lots of crushed ice for this drink. I do love a mojito, but admittedly the ice to alcohol ratio can be quite high. So you end up finishing your drink pretty quickly, or maybe that is just me.
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 lime cut into 4 wedges
- 12 mint leaves – make sure to clap these first, to release the flavour
- Soda water
- 2 shots of Bacardi Rum
As above muddle first three ingredients. Add the ice. Pour in the rum. Add more ice, then top with soda water. Decorate if required with an extra sprig of mint.
Bacardi will always make me think of good old Bacardi Breezers, many a night spent drinking the lemon or lime flavoured drinks. The mojito is a much more grown up version of the drink! Before anyone asks, the straws are not plastic but paper.
