London | Week 2.

Week 2 at work was long, lots of informaiton thrown at me and the constant 8.30am starts were a shock to my university life style. My parents had booked to come down and being in Greenwich we decided to take advantage of the Thames. Dad is the sailor in the family, he passed his love of boats on to me!

He has a replica of the Cutty Sark at home, which is a tangle of knots at the top of the mast so this photo is meant to help him untangle it!

Cutty Sark Masts

We took a boat cruise down the Thames passing The O2 {Millenium Dome when I last went}.

Saw a boat cut in half.

Half boat on the Thames

My favourite bit – Thames Barrier. Spooks is an amazing TV series and there is one episode where they have to save London from flooding, I got overly excited about it!

The boat turned at the Barrier and headed back up towards Westminster. Passing Tower Bridge, The Millenium bridge and HMS President. I love the pipe paint work.

Highlight of Lunch – prosecco and some tiramisu, made even better by the fact Dad was paying! A cafe/patisserie named The Whitehall, would definitely recommend it.

The following day it was a lot sunnier so we returned to Greenwich pier to watch some of the boats go past. A truly nautical weekend, which kept Dad happy!
