September was a rather fun/busy/different running month. From my first ever hill race, to having to call my Dad to pick me up (Thanks!), to running in Disney as Buzz Lightyear and packing in 125 miles. Not bad hey?
The month started with a change to my normal route thanks to some construction by Scottish Water! Advanced warning of the footpath closure was much appreciated.
As mentioned above, I had to call my Dad to pick me up. I’ve never done this mid run before. But 7 miles in, having gone way too fast downhill, coupled with all the pollen in the grass below my legs just stopped. So thanks Dad for rescuing me!
Autumn evenings brought gorgeous golden hour light, plenty of crunchy leaves to jump right into. I mean um run over.
From Hel N’ Back or a rather big hill race, or just hell. 1000ft up, 7ish miles. When you turn up and the race organizer says its flat for the first 300m you know you are in for a tough course. I’ve not had race nerves like this in a long time, but it was worth it.
I mean wow at this view!
I could not recommend this race enough. Some incredible views, a rather creepy forest run and a cookie as a medal.
Pretty proud of these Strava stats!
Oh and some hilarious race photos. Laughing through the pain of uphill, then serious concentration downhill to not fall flat on my face.
We only smile post 1/2 mile reps.
I then went to Disneyland Paris, dressed as Buzz Lightyear and ran a half marathon. It was Jenna (Woody’s) first half, and I could not be more proud of her! It was an incredible race, despite the 7am start…
Not sure I’ll ever top this kit flat lay.
Just before we started the clouds appeared in the sky, reminding me entirely of the Toy Story cloud wallpaper.
Yes I was this happy the whole race, yes the wings stayed on the whole time. Yes I posed with multiple things.
Oh hello Disney castle!
The biggest medal ever!
