After a few runs and early morning circuits, I realised that my two fitness resolutions were slightly too focused on running. Whilst running is one of my favourite fitness activities, you can’t beat the day after leg day burn post a good squat session. So I decided to sit-down and write some goals for the year. Keyword is goals. They are things I would like to achieve, some may be more difficult than others, namely 5 pull-ups. It’s a way for me to keep my training both cardio and weight based, ensuring that I don’t focus too much on one thing. I want to be a runner as well as a #strongnotskinny girl!
My 2016 fitness goals:
- 1000 miles for the year
- 60-75 kg squat for 5 reps
- Sub 1 hour 50 minute half marathon
- Sub 50 minute 10 km
- Run distance longer than 13 miles
- 5 unassisted pull-ups
It was pointed out after posting the photo on Instagram, that I have infact run 13.1 miles, aka a half marathon. So to be more specific, run between 15 and 20 miles!
Does anyone else find goals help with training plans?
