This Ted Talk was presented at a networking event at work last week. It’s short and simple and entirely relevant at any point in a career. I’ve got an internal battle about whether I made the right decision moving into technology away from engineering, so the pipe analogy held true. “The pipes are infinite and you’re going to bump your head, and it’s a part of the process.” If I had gone down the engineering route, I would have bumped my head in other manners.
As cliche as it sounds, Bel Pesco is correct, life is about the journey, not about the goal. My goal last year was to run the half marathon, which I did but more importantly, I found a group of friends, found a new hobby which I partake in whatever the weather and found something that helps me to clear my head, definitely worthwhile.
